On the weekend of 17 – 19 June this year, 96 startups from eight countries went head-to-head in a competition to come up with solutions for streamlining the Customer Journey. 9 of those startups have seen their efforts rewarded with a Letter of Intent from the BNP Paribas Group and will be going through an incubation process allowing them to develop their concepts into real, practical solutions improving customers’ relationship.
‘Streamlining the Customer Journey by creating solutions in conjunction with startups’ – a central plank of the Bank’s strategic approach going forward – was the chosen theme for this 2nd edition of BNP Paribas International Hackathon. In addition to Paris, Brussels, Rome, Istanbul and San Francisco, which hosted the competition last year, Berlin, London and Warsaw also ran this year’s event.
By the end of the weekend, 18 startups had been selected to move onto the next stage. A total of 96 startups participated, versus 58 contestants last year – evidence of the growing popularity of this competition among the startup community. During a 4-month Digital Bootcamp, the selected startups worked hand-in-hand with various BNP Paribas experts: from IT, Marketing, Compliance, etc.
9 startups selected by a delegation of the BNP Paribas Executive Committee on Demo Day, which took place in Paris on 2 December, have come up with innovative solutions using Data Analytics, Crowdfunding and RoboAdvisory etc., all designed to help BNP Paribas Group deliver more suitable and more personalised services to its customers.
