BNL FOR TENNIS
BNL has always shown a keen interest in the world of sport and, after its acquisition by BNP Paribas, it became closely involved in the world of tennis. Since 2007 it has been the “Title Sponsor” of the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 tennis tournament and the WTA tour, which takes place every year at the Foro Italico in Rome.
BNL supports the Italian Tennis Federation in its work with young people through:
- The “Youth Circuit”, which it has sponsored since 2011, and which is divided into 46 stages and includes the most important tournaments in Italy, such as the Regional Championships, Absolute Championships and Observed Tournaments;
- a new system of educational assessment and certification of the quality of learning known as the “Fit Ranking Program”, which aims to create a system of education that is modern, fun and high-quality in Italian schools, with the objective of developing the tennis players of tomorrow.
BNL also combines its commitment to social awareness and tennis by supporting TELETHON, with the “Tennis Telethon”, through which some 3,000 clubs affiliated to the Italian Tennis Federation organise tournaments within their own facilities, with the proceeds being donated to support scientific research.
BNL sponsors the International Wheelchair Tennis Tournament, in the ITF3 category, which is part of the “NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour” world circuit that comprises nearly 150 events annually around the world.
In these days the 73rd edition of the Tournament is taking place. Just like the previous edition, this will feature the “combined event” formula with the men’s and women’s matches being played over eight days.
The matches will take place from Monday 2 to Sunday May 15 at the Foro Italico Village in Rome.
BNP Paribas, a lasting partnership with tennis
Since 1973, the relationship between BNP Paribas and tennis has grown increasingly strong. The BNP Paribas Group is now the leading partner of the sport worldwide, sponsoring about 550 tournaments a year, both professional and amateur. The Group also finances educational and social events linked to tennis, thus combining a passion for the game with social commitment.
The support BNP Paribas lends to big international competitions enables it to convey its brand image and thus to enhance its reputation and global exposure. It is also a way of deepening its personal relationships with customers and of meeting prospects the world over.
