This year, the 25th annual Telethon succeeded in raising EUR 86,119,425 in France, proof of the enduring bond that unites the French population and the scientific research community in the fight against genetic diseases.
The participation of nearly 20,000 volunteers throughout France, together with 30 hours of live broadcasting across the entire France Télévision network, made this result possible. It’s also due to the efforts of the hundreds of employees of the 2,100 BNP Paribas branches who created or participated in initiatives supporting the Telethon.
The generosity of the Italian population and the employees of BNL, the Italian subsidiary of the BNP Paribas Group, helped to raise a further EUR 11.618 million as of the close of the 20th annual Italian Telethon on 18 December.
Rome confirmed its ranking as the number one city in Italy in terms of social solidarity, with EUR 1.673 million raised. The city of Naples came in second, raising EUR 670,000. Milan took third place, with EUR 445,000, and Florence ranked fourth, raising EUR 335,000.
The BNP Paribas Group was confirmed once again this year as the principal partner for the event, demonstrating the commitment of the bank and its employees to providing practical support for scientific research in the fight against genetic diseases.
