BNP Paribas is a European high street bank. Its branches have a role to play in building communities in the neighbourhoods in which they are located.
The Group has renewed its partnership, first launched in 2008, with the not-for-profit association Immeubles en Fête (Apartment Block Party), the creator of Neighbours’ Day.
This is the largest citizen event both in France and worldwide, with a total of more than 16 million participants. Neighbours’ Day, which is an opportunity for each of us to get to know our neighbours, will take place on Friday 1st June in more than 35 countries.
BNP Paribas, the only Neighbours’ Day partner in the banking and insurance sector in Europe, is proud to contribute to the growth of this initiative, which shares the core values that drive its banking activities: listening, commitment, acting locally and responsibility.
As part of its ongoing partnership with Neighbours’ Day, the BNP Paribas branch network is hosting “Coffee with the Neighbours” for the fifth consecutive year.
On the 1st and 2nd of June, participating branches will offer their customers and neighbours coffee and croissants. It will be opportunity for all the residents of the neighbourhood to engage in friendly and informal conversation with the branch’s teams.
As part of its ongoing commitment to providing its customers with the best possible service, the Group is naturally both respectful of and receptive to these conversations. To mark this event, many BNP Paribas branches are distributing Neighbours’ Day kits prepared by the Immeubles en Fête association to their neighbours and customers. The kits include posters, balloons and invitations for organising their own neighbours’ party.
In total, more than 2,000 branches of BNP Paribas’ four major domestic markets will be involved: in France (1,500 branches), Italy (via BNL, 300 branches), Belgium (via FINTRO BNP Paribas Group, 200 branches) and Luxembourg (via BGL BNP Paribas, 38 branches).
For the first time, Bank of the West in the U.S. and BICICI in Côte d’Ivoire will also be offering their customers and neighbours an opportunity to take part in this convivial event. More than 35,000 customers and neighbours are expected to attend at BNP Paribas branches in France and in countries participating in the event.
In addition, BNP Paribas will be enhancing this year’s communication programme for Neighbours’ Day in France with the launch of radio spots. The information will also be relayed on Facebook and Twitter.
BNP Paribas has also claimed its branches on the location-based social networking website Foursquare, and will be offering a “Michel & Augustin” gift to the “mayors” of the 25 branches with the most check-ins, upon presentation of their title as mayor on Foursquare.
BNP Paribas, as a responsible bank, is thus confirming its commitment to contributing to the life of the neighbourhoods in which it operates.
