Subscriptions are open until October 17th to participate to Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2016 the paneuropean contest launched by BNP Paribas Cardif. The contest will reward the three most innovative ideas on the customer experience in the insurance field. The three winners, with the support of managers and of the internal R&D of the Company, will have the chance to realize a prototype and to commercialize it in Italy or abroad.
Many people think innovation is making things simpler and improve existing activities or processes, others believe it’s about introducing absolute news to services or products. What’s the winning aspect anyway? It’s always the creative idea which can be transformed in a successful reality, if it’s correctly developed.
In the last years, Italy particularly shined in this field: this is what emerge from data elaborated by BNP Paribas Cardif, one of the top ten insurance companies in the Italian market, in occasion of Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2016, the contest which, until October 17th, will collect innovative ideas able to improve the insurers customer experience. In order to go into depth of this topic, yesterday the event Re-Boot Open-F@b 2016 was held at the presence of influential guests and BNP Paribas Cardif managers. In particular, the workshop allowed start-ups and young entrepreneurs to understand how digital innovations can improve the customer experience in relationships with insurance companies.
In Italy, the number of innovative start-ups keeps growing rapidly and currently 6.235 companies are registered at national level (21,2% more than the end of 2015). It’s about young firms which mainly employed up to four workers in the last year (78,5%), which work in the service industry (75,4%) and which have a production value of less than 100 thousands euros (65,4%). In terms of governance, the 13,2% of companies has a female-dominated corporate structure whereas more than a fifth (21,6%) are start-ups coordinated mainly by under 35.
At regional level Lombardia reveals the highest value with 865 innovative start-ups (equal to 21,7% of national total), followed by Emilia Romagna with 750 (12%), Lazio with 619 (9,9%), Veneto with 483 (7,7%), Piemonte with 397 (6,4%) and Campania with 396 (6,4%). Among the most dynamic provinces, Milan has 917 young companies, 536 are in Rome and 298 in Turin. Over the end of 2015, the highest growth in percentage terms is reported in two central-south regions of Italy, Abruzzo (+35,7%) and Basilicata (+34,3%), followed by Emilia Romagna (+29,8%).
Open-F@b Call4Ideas 2016 is an open innovation project dedicated to anyone who has an innovative idea (start-ups, technology providers, professionals, developers, students, etc.), launched in 2014 for the first time by BNP Paribas Cardif in collaboration with InsuranceUp.it and PoliHub, Startup District&Incubator.
